Women-Safe Self Defense

Women are often targeted by assailants as they are viewed as “easy” targets.  Most women lack the skills to react in the event they are attacked, and predators use this to their advantage.  Understanding how predators single out women as potential targets is the first step to understanding how to defend yourself  from attack.

Danger Awareness

By understanding the tactics predators use in a variety of scenarios, women can learn to be more self-assertive and pro-active in their daily activities to minimize their risk of being targeted.  Women who learn the common tactics assailants utilize, as well as many of their typical profiling tactics, can be better prepared to avoid situations that could lend themselves to attack.

Defensive Countermeasures

In the event avoiding an attack is not possible, having a series of practical defensive countermeasures to help you escape, or delay the attack long enough for help to arrive, is of paramount importance.  Our Women-Safe” program teaches practical defensive techniques that don’t require great skill or expertise, but are proven methods to help you react to an attack.  While no one can guarantee you won’t be attacked, or injured in an attack, these techniques can provide a means for you to escape or at the least buy time while you cry out for assistance.

Women-Safe Training Modules

Our Women-Safe Self-Defense classes are divided into 10 monthly modules.  Classes meet for 1 hour, once a week.  Each module includes educational information on danger awareness and training in practical defensive countermeasures.

Modules can be taken individually, or as part of a complete Women-Safe curriculum.  Each session reviews previous information while introducing new concepts and techniques.

Repetitive training in self-defense helps develop “unconscious response” to a potentially threatening situation, making “danger awareness” and the implementation of defensive countermeasures more effective.
